“I wonder how Admat can be everywhere. Is he in my sandal? Or is he my sandal itself? Why would a god bother to be a sandal? Does he wear shoes or sandals himself, invisible ones?”

The qoute above is from the book Ever. Which is set in ancient times written from the point of view of Olus a young god, and Kezi a palace officials daughter. I have just started this book and it is very interesting. Olus being god of the winds grows up wanting to live with mortals, so at age seventeen he leaves his home of Akka and travels the world wanting to learn more about mortals. Finally he becomes a goat herd and is allowed by Kezi's father to use their land. Kezi is a young girl who knotts amazing rugs and loves to dance. One day Kezi's mother gets very sick and her father makes an oath to their god Admat that if his wife gets better he will sacrifice the first person to congradulate him on his wife recovery to Admat. Kezi's mom gets better and her Aunt Fedo comes to visit. Right before her aunt congradulates her dad Kezi does.
All this while Olus has been falling in love with Kezi, and now that she is falling in love with him too her father is going to sacrific her to Admat when the season is over. This is as far as I have gotten and I cant wait to find out what happens.
